To start the new year, we just kicked off our own epic top tier LHD Targa Top Brian Supra build. Coco Crisp is being taken apart to be transformed into our own epic LHD targa top 1000 WHP V160 flame shooting, 2 step ear popping, marshmallow exhaust roasting, Playstation playing, Fast and Furious movie watching epic FX JDM Brian Supra. You might remember our crowd pleasing RHD Brian Supra that we sold a few years ago (that’s Cody Walker, my old RHD Supra, and me in the pic above), that car was tons of fun, but I always wanted to build my own version from the ground up with a proper LHD targa top so I sold it to build this instead.

We’ve been quietly acquiring all the parts to transform Coco from an awesome early 2000s show car to a fantastic / epic Brian Supra. Here’s a few of the tidbits of what we’ve collected over the last few years that will be in the new build:

Film Accurate Exterior: Film accurate OG Bomex body kit, APR Spoiler, Racing Hart M5 Tuner wheels (Film fitment), yellow roll bar, TRD style carbon fiber hood.

Film Accurate Interior: Stitch Craft upholstered interior (Yup the same people that stitched Hero 1 the film car in the first film). Film accurate steering wheel - We scored the unicorn steering wheel and we’ll make it film accurate black and have a spare in blue since everyone loves the blue one that Craig had in his car before and after filming.

Film Accurate A/V Gear: This is what will really set us apart from all the rest - We’ve spent years hunting down film accurate or at least era accurate EVERYTHING for the A/V gear

  • (3) OG Butler film accurate tube amplifiers in the rear hatch

  • (2) Silver film accurate NOS bottles in the trunk / NOS holders

  • (3) Fully operational OG LCD screens film accurate or era accurate for the stereo receiver motorized tilt screen, passenger dash screen, and rear hatch screen. You’ve seen us at the shows and know that we’ll be showing movies and playing PS2 on them at the shows while roasting marshmallows off the exhaust flames.

  • Fully operational Clarion old school proprietary system - Clarion stereo receiver w/ motor driven tilting LCD screen, 2 Clarion LCDs (dash and trunk), 6 disc changer, Clarion Multisource AV Switcher, Clarion Digital Parametric Graphic Car Equalizer DSP Crossover, PS2 chunky style, and a functional VHS camcorder hooked up to the stereo LCD monitor so the kiddos can see themselves checking out the car.

Resto-mod Engine and Power: We want a resto-mod 10 second car that spools up using latest and greatest turbo technology and runs 1000 WHP on E85 for higher boost safety. So we’re rebuilding Coco’s old school built motor and T88 turbo setup with the latest and greatest engine internals (as needed), the latest and greatest fastest spooling twin scroll turbos available anywhere, and adding E85 for that extra 100 WHP sizzle at stupid boost levels.

AI’s take today on the 10 second target (I just asked it): A 1000 HP MKIV Supra with no weight reduction (retaining full interior, glass, and stock body panels) is generally capable of running in the 8-second range in the 1/4 mile, typically with trap speeds exceeding 150-160 mph

Resto-mod Suspension & Brakes: We want a resto-mod car that’s safe and modern with the suspension & brakes, so we’re using top shelf coilovers, adjustable suspension, big name brakes, the works.

Stay tuned, for the build progress updaters on the new Epic Brian page on our website…..
